Equivac 2in1 provides a more practical and economical means of vaccinating simultaneously for both tetanus and strangles than purchasing and administering two separate vaccines.
Prevention of tetanus: A single dose of Equivac 2in1 given to an unimmunised horse at the time of wounding or surgery may not prevent tetanus. For short-term prevention of tetanus, Equivac® TAT should also be used. See entry for Equivac TAT.
Combined Active-Passive Protection: Equivac 2in1 can be administered simultaneously with Equivac TAT. A separate needle and syringe should be used for each product and administration should be on opposite sides of the body. If initiating a primary course the second dose of Equivac 2in1 should be administered 4 to 6 weeks later.
Zoetis offers a guarantee against tetanus infection if horses are vaccinated by veterinarians with Equivac 2in1 in accordance with the guidelines of the Equine Infectious Diseases Advisory Board and the dose is registered with the Hendra Registry.
